There is still no sign of the slide presentation from the Massing and Viability study stakeholder meeting on June 16th 2016. However, the Council have just released a draft of the Local Plan and there are lots of details in there. You can find a copy here (page 49 onwards):
There are almost 600 pages to look through, although clearly only some parts are relevant to Site A. It will go to the LBB Development and Control Committee on Monday 11th July for agreement and will then go through a 6 week consultation process.
There is a LOT of information to take in. The plan now proposes 525 units at Site A. This proposal is then followed by pages of objections from developers and landowners saying that this number is not nearly sufficient for LBB to be compliant with housing requirements laid out in the GLA’s “London Plan” and that LBB will therefore need to increase the scale of the development substantially if it is to be be acceptable. One developer recommends rewording this draft document to show a range of 581-1094 units for the site.
The unfortunate truth is that LBB is REQUIRED by the GLA to build a minimum quantity of housing and, if developers and landowners feel that this target is not being met due to planning objections, then they can (and have) objected via appeal.
BRRA committee members are still digesting the content of the document and will clearly make a statement for the consultation. Residents may with to make their own representations and when the details for exactly how and when to do this are available we will let you know.
