Are the Police effective in Bromley? Do you know what Cyber Crime is or how to report it?
While ‘standard’ crime has generally decreased locally, threats from terrorism, cyber-crime and scams have grown and, in many instances, may have more serious consequences for individuals.
The local Police will give a short talk on how they are responding to these changes in Bromley and will be available to answer your questions in person at the next BRRA meeting on 18th May 2016.
For many years Neighbourhood Watch (NW) has provided a communication link between the public and the Police. Although NW continues to operate, it has to some extent been overtaken by the introduction of Safer Neighbourhood Panels in each electoral Ward and an improved local Police presence with PSCO’s patrolling the streets. One of the recent Police’s responses to the changing nature of local crime has been to reduce the size of these local PCSO teams.
What do these changes mean for residents? What is the real level of crime and threat in Bromley? How can residents better protect themselves and their property? Please come to the next BRRA meeting on 18th May 2016 to find out more.
