The area to the west of the High Street between the Churchill Theatre and Ethelbert Road is due for imminent redevelopment. The area, part of the original development site known as Site G, will entail the compulsory purchase of the existing private dwellings in Ethelbert Close and the construction of 410 residential apartments and other mixed use facilities.
NB This is just the first part of the development of Site G which extends down to Bromley South Station.
This is the site map of the proposal. Bromley High Street is at the top of the map with the Churchill Theatre to the left:
The height of the apartment blocks will reach 15 storeys. These are the projected views from the High Street:

The developers are planning 94 parking spaces for the 410 residential units.
This development is a continuation of the wholesale transformation of Bromley Town Centre from an outer-London suburb into a Metropolitan centre. The new London Plan requires Bromley Council to build an additional 14,240 homes over the next ten years, the majority of which are expected to be town centres.
